The Cleveland Browns today named Zak Gilbert director of communications. Gilbert joins the organization from the Oakland Raiders, where he'd served as director of media relations in 2012.
“We are thrilled to add someone with Zak’s skills and background to lead our communications department,” said Browns CEO Joe Banner. “He brings nearly 20 years of expertise on both the collegiate and professional level. We are happy to welcome him to the Browns organization.”
Previously, Gilbert worked as director of athletic media relations in his hometown, Fort Collins, Colo., at Colorado State University (2007-12). His career also includes time with the Green Bay Packers (2001-07) and Colorado Rockies (1998-2001), and internships with the Denver Broncos (1997) and University of Colorado (1994-97), his alma mater.
Gilbert and his wife, Jennifer, have three children, Ashlynn, Braden and Caitlynn.
